Mrs Clark graduated from York St John University in 2005 with a degree in Communication Arts, followed by a PGCE in Drama in 2008. Prior to embarking on her studies Mrs Clark had pursued her passion for acting and was fortunate to play the role of Jenny Kirby in Heartbeat.
Mrs Clark decided she wanted to impart her knowledge and love of acting on the next generation and commenced her first Drama teaching role at The Morley Academy in 2008.
She quickly became involved in the Pastoral sector, supporting young people with their social, emotional and mental health needs. Mrs Clark was promoted to a Head of Year in 2009, an Assistant Principal at The Farnley Academy in 2012 and then Vice Principal in 2016.
Her responsibilities included quality assuring behaviour, inclusion and safeguarding processes across the Academy, ensuring total efficiency, consistency and rigour in approach. During her time in this role she endeavoured to maintain high expectations of the young people, worked to maximise their potential, while promoting all aspects of their welfare through effective collaboration with key stakeholders. As a consequence of her strategic vision, specific training, clear accountability measures and obsession for an inclusive culture The Farnley Academy was awarded by Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ for Behaviour and Safety from Inadequate within a year of her appointment in December 2013.
She is now excited to be on the journey of transforming Leeds East Academy into an Outstanding and World Class Educational Provision, with such a talented and dedicated staff body.
