Danny joined the Teach First programme because of his relentless passion to improve the life chances of young people. Programmes with schools looked at building skills within young people such as team work, resilience and perseverance.

In the UK Danny continued his link with the US and became a regional interviewer for applicants wanting to work with young people abroad. Furthermore, since returning from his role Danny aimed to set up and give similar opportunities for children in the UK. Danny went on to run a summer programme for young people in Sheffield in 2014 and then moved on to create a brand new programme for young people in the Leeds West area with the Bramley Cluster which has now run successfully for the past two years serving around 300 children.

Following a number of years as Assistant Principal for Inclusion at Leeds West Academy, overseeing the implementation of the Additional Needs Team, the ANT System, the creation of a Nurture provision and working as part of the SLT moving the academy from an RI inspection to a Good inspection in one inspection window.
