Music and Drama Clubs

Leeds East Academy’s Performing Arts department now offer a wide range of clubs and activities for students to get involved throughout the week.

On Tuesdays the department offer LEMA (Leeds East Music Academy), where students have the opportunity to learn a wide range of instruments and also sing in one of our vocal groups.

On Wednesdays we have LEADr (Leeds East Academy Drama), where all are welcome to develop their acting skills in a range of contexts, from improve to slapstick, pantomime and more.

Also on Wednesdays, LEAD (Leeds East Academy Dance) provide an established programme of events throughout the year. Students will work in a range of styles including street dance and contemporary.

The Head of Performing Arts said: “All of our extra-curricular clubs work towards performances in school, collaborating with other academies in the Trust and producing shows for our local community. Students attending LEMA, LEADr and LEAD not only develop great performing skills but build confidence and show commitment whilst obviously having a lot of fun.”
