Leeds East Academy

Truly Resilient Football Team

Tuesday 9th October saw Leeds East Academy's Year 8 Football Team play Cardinal Heenan in the second round of the Cup.

The boys trained extremely hard in the build up to this game, and were desperate for a win.

Unfortunately, the team lost 4-0. However, the score line did not reflect the performance of the team. It was one of those games where the boys just could not put the ball in the net.

The Year 8 boys showed great sportsmanship, resilience, and teamwork - they even impressed the parents in the crowd.

One parent watching the game said to a member of staff “Your students were amazing this evening and a pleasure to watch. Hopefully we can come to your school and play again some time.”

Usually Mr Major would give a ‘man of the match’ but he simply could not do it for this match - he was proud of every one of them.

Mr Major said "The team spirit, attitude, and positivity of these boys was amazing to watch."

We are looking forward to seeing how far these boys will grow in their future games.
