Children in Need 2017
Transforming the lives of disadvantaged children
Leeds East Academy has answered BBC Children in Need's call to Do Your Thing and help raise money to transform the lives of disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK.
On 17th November, students will be able to purchase a range of Children in Need merchandise which they'll be able to add to their uniforms on the day.
The Academy building will also be transformed - inside and out - with hundreds of spots in support of Pudsey the Bear's famous bandage. There will be face painting activities, a flash mob, competitions, a unique bake-off and even a live staff duck race!
Ms Steel, who is coordinating this year's events, said: "Charity work helps develop empathy amongst young people and it makes them realise that making a difference really matters. Our community champions will help organise and run the events in and around the school, as well as across the local community."
Mr Stokes adds: “We have an incredible programme of activities lined up for Children In Need this year, which will be taking place across the Academy involving all year groups and staff. I would like to thank everyone who has supported our plans so far; we're looking forward to the day and hope that it raises lots of money for BBC Children in Need.”
