A Smooth Transition at LEA
Year 6 Begin their Leeds East Academy Journey
Tuesday 4th July was a very exciting day for Year 6 students from across East Leeds, as they spent their first full day at Leeds East Academy.
Every child who has a confirmed place at Leeds East Academy was invited to spend the full day with us, as part of our extensive Transition Programme which includes a commitment to visit every child in their Primary School, coupled with a professional information sharing day at the Academy with many other activities.
Academy Principal Mr Stokes said: "Our new Year 7 are joining us at a remarkably exciting time, where Leeds East Academy is offering a unique education journey with a vibrant new curriculum, record-number of outstanding teachers and cutting-edge learning facilities. I am delighted to see so many new families join our school at this transformative point in our school's history."
Over one hundred and thirty children attended the day, receiving vital information, meeting new friends and experiencing high-quality lessons including Maths, English, Science, PE, Art and Drama. The day enabled the new students to orientate themselves with our school building and meet new people, students and adults alike.

Days like this are invaluable in beginning to develop that vital 5-year relationship with students and families. We are delighted to be sharing our journey to outstanding with such an enthusiastic cohort.”
Ms Ord, Teacher of Science and STEM Leader, adds: “Every student I have taught today has been a joy to teach. I am really looking to working with the new Year 7 in September.”
